Fil·loxera & Cía is one of the most authentic and recognizable projects in current Valencian wine. From Fontanars dels Alforins, this small winery has built its own universe where wine, art, and the recovery of forgotten varieties go hand in hand.
Their wines are direct, lively, and deeply connected to the land, becoming a benchmark for those looking for natural wines in Valencia with identity and character.
Project History
Fil·loxera & Cía was founded in 2011 by José Ramón Domenech, Pilar Esteve, and Joan B. Llobell. From its beginnings, the project has had a clear mission: to recover native Valencian varieties and to craft wine from an honest perspective, without artifice.
Far from conventional models, the winery has built its own identity based on experimentation, sensibility, and respect for tradition. Today, Fil·loxera & Cía is a benchmark within the natural wine movement in Spain.
Philosophy and Way of Working
At Fil·loxera & Cía, the vineyard is the center of everything. They practice respectful viticulture, without aggressive products and with a clear orientation towards minimal intervention.
In the cellar, the process follows the same line: spontaneous fermentations, absence of unnecessary corrections, and winemaking that seeks to express the grape and the landscape without embellishment.
Each wine is a free interpretation, where balance is found between the wild and the elegant.
The Vineyard and the Terroir
The vineyards are located in Fontanars dels Alforins, in the interior of the province of Valencia. A high-altitude landscape, with poor soils and a continental climate with Mediterranean influence, ideal for obtaining grapes with good acidity and balance.
This is where Fil·loxera & Cía has focused much of its work on recovering varieties such as Arcos, Verdil, Monastrell, and Macabeo, restoring prominence to grapes that had been forgotten for years.
The result is a viticulture with identity, deeply connected to the terroir.

Fil·loxera & Cía wines are fresh, expressive, and full of energy. They don't seek technical perfection, but rather emotion and authenticity.
