Abadía Retuerta Selección Especial 2017 is a red wine produced by Abadía Retuerta in V.T. Castilla y León, Spain. It comes from vineyards located on the Abadía Retuerta estate in Sardón de Duero (Valladolid), with an average age of 20 years, where the vines are cultivated on north-facing slopes at altitudes reaching up to 850 meters.

The harvest is carried out manually in October. Fermentation takes place in small stainless steel tanks, where malolactic fermentation is also performed. Subsequently, the wine is aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels.

Tasting Notes

Dark red color of good intensity. On the nose, complex and fresh, with a good fruity touch, especially with the presence of red fruits. The wood provides notes of cedar and toast. On the palate, a gentle but firm entry with savory hints. Good balance and melting, fine tannins. Very persistent.

Ideal to accompany red meats, game, stews, and aged cheeses. A wine that enhances intense and complex flavors.
