Belondrade y Lurton Magnum 2022 is the large-format version of one of the most emblematic white wines of the D.O. Rueda, produced by Didier Belondrade in Castilla y León. Sourced from organic vineyards worked by plots at Quinta San Diego, this barrel-fermented Verdejo comes in a 1.5-liter format that magnifies its capacity for evolution and aging.
Fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts in French oak barrels, followed by 10 months of aging on its lees and a 6-month refinement in bottle before its release. The result is a white wine of depth, varietal character, and Burgundian finesse.

Tasting Notes
Bright golden color with warm reflections. On the nose, it displays complex aromas of ripe white fruit, pineapple, mango, and citrus, accompanied by white flower, pastry notes, vanilla, fennel, and an elegant mineral background. On the palate, it is structured, creamy, with a lively, perfectly balanced acidity. It shows an enveloping texture and a long, slightly bitter finish that provides tension and persistence.
Pairing
It pairs excellently with fatty fish, fine seafood, seafood rice dishes, foie gras, and poultry with creamy sauces. It is also ideal with soft cheeses and contemporary cuisine dishes. In magnum format, it is perfect for celebrations or gastronomic meals.
Terroir and philosophy
The Quinta San Diego vineyard is located at an altitude of 800 meters, on stony soils and with an extreme continental climate. These conditions bring tension and freshness to the Verdejo, which is expressed here with unusual elegance. Didier Belondrade signs this wine as a tribute to great European white wines, applying a plot-by-plot philosophy and precise aging, with a Burgundian soul and Castilian spirit.
