Benje Blanco 2022, from Envínate, is the silent roar of Teide in a glass. A high-altitude wine that captures the volcanic force of Tenerife: Listán Blanco (Palomino) grown in centennial vineyards clinging to over 1,000m on black, arid soils, exposed to the Atlantic wind and volcanic landscape.

Harvest is manual, and the grapes macerate with skins for 14 to 40 days at controlled temperatures (18–30°C). Afterwards, the wine rests for eight months on its lees in concrete tanks and used French oak barrels, without bâtonnage or added sulfites, and is bottled unfiltered.

Tasting Notes

Pale yellow color, intense and bright. On the nose, orchard fruit—apple, peach—wrapped in volcanic smoke, sea salt, and wild herbs. Toasted notes from the barrel also emerge, along with a vibrant minerality reflecting the altitude.

On the palate, it is energetic, with a sharp acidity and a slightly unctuous texture. The volume and salinity recall the Atlantic, while the volcanic character reaches a long and persistent finish, where black stone and baked apple appear.

Pairing

The perfect complement to grilled cod, fatty fish like tuna, roasted poultry, wild mushrooms, and legume stews. Its acidity and mineral profile balance robust flavors and unctuous textures.
