Altún Rosé 2025 was born from the search for freshness in the highest areas of Rioja Alavesa. Made by Iker and Alberto Martínez Pangua, it comes from a selection of six Tempranillo plots located between 550 and 650 meters of altitude, where cold nights and the action of the cierzo wind allow for the preservation of tension, fruit, and a marked liveliness.
Partial fermentation in French oak and subsequent aging on lees provide volume and complexity without losing the fresh character that defines this rosé. A winemaking process with restrained intervention that seeks to clearly convey the landscape and its origin.

The Vineyard
Altún Rosé comes from six carefully selected plots in Laguardia and San Vicente de la Sonsierra, chosen precisely because they are among the highest altitude plots worked by the winery.
Located between 550 and 650 meters, the vines are bush-trained and are mostly on slopes. The Atlantic climate with Mediterranean influence, cold nights, and especially the action of the cierzo, a strong, cool, and dry wind, create privileged conditions to preserve the natural freshness of Tempranillo.
It is precisely this combination of altitude and climate that defines the identity of the wine.
Winemaking
Bodegas Altún's philosophy is based on restrained intervention, respecting natural processes as much as possible to convey the personality of its place of origin to the wine.
The harvest is carried out manually to preserve the quality of the fruit. After gentle pressing, 50% of the free-run must undergoes alcoholic fermentation in French oak barrels, at a temperature of 16 ºC for a period of between 20 and 30 days.
Finally, the wine remains 3 months on its lees in tank, a process that adds texture, complexity, and a characteristic fleshy mouthfeel without overshadowing the freshness.
Tasting Notes
It presents an elegant pale pink color, clean and delicate.
On the nose, it is intense and complex, with aromas of grapefruit and other citrus fruits, accompanied by white flowers and subtle spicy nuances.
On the palate, it combines two particularly interesting aspects: a fresh and lively entry, supported by good acidity, and a fleshy and enveloping texture from the aging on lees. The overall result is balanced, elegant, and with enough structure to accompany a meal.
Food Pairing
Its combination of freshness, acidity, and volume allows it to be paired with rice dishes, fish, seafood, salads, pasta, vegetables, white meats, and Asian cuisine. It is also an excellent option for appetizers and Mediterranean dishes.
It is recommended to serve at 12 ºC.
Altún Rosé 2025 demonstrates that freshness can also be built from the vineyard. Six high-altitude plots, cold nights, the cierzo wind, and Tempranillo form the base of a precise and gastronomic rosé, while partial fermentation in wood and aging on lees add a deeper and more enveloping dimension.
