Perdigón Rosado Reserva 2023 is the first rosé wine produced by Bodegas RODA, conceived from its origin with a philosophy unusual in this category: to create a complex, gastronomic aged rosé capable of evolving over time.

It primarily originates from the unique Perdigón site, next to the Ebro River, on a gentle hill located at the entrance to the Tondón meander. Tempranillo and Garnacha, old vines, and long aging in French oak build a rosé of great depth, where delicacy coexists with volume and structure.

The Vineyard

The Perdigón site is one of Bodegas RODA's most special vineyards. It is located next to the Ebro River, on a gentle hill at the entrance to the Tondón meander, in an enclave where Atlantic, Mediterranean, and continental influences converge.

The old vines sink their roots into a complex network of sands and marls that form a characteristic profile of limestone layers. This soil, together with the biodiversity of the surroundings and the particular location of the vineyard, provides the wine with tension, minerality, and a very defined personality.

Winemaking

Perdigón deliberately breaks with the idea of rosé as an exclusively young wine.

During vatting, the free-run must is bled, which then ferments in barrel. The wine remains on its fine lees for 15 months in second-use French oak barrels, seeking texture, depth, and complexity without the wood dominating the fruit's expression.

After this long aging, it remains for another 8 months in bottle before being released to the market. A leisurely process that finishes polishing the wine and explains its extraordinary finesse and aging potential.

Tasting Notes

It presents a beautiful, bright, and luminous salmon pink color.

On the nose, it is delicate and complex. Fresh stone fruits such as apricot, cherry, and vineyard peach appear, accompanied by small wild flowers, fresh fennel, and hints of bitter almond. The aging is perfectly integrated, almost imperceptible, while a mineral background of calcareous character provides depth.

On the palate, it surprises with its volume and texture. It combines a pleasant enveloping sensation with a very marked freshness. Citrus notes of grapefruit emerge along with cherry, peach, and flowers, with an elegant hint of bitter almond. The acidity supports the whole and leads to an extraordinarily long, fresh finish with great retronasal intensity.

It is a rosé of finesse, roundness, and lightness, but also with the necessary structure to evolve and grow in the bottle.

Pairing

Its gastronomic character allows it to accompany practically a full meal. Excellent with Mediterranean rice dishes, baked fish, seafood, tuna, salmon, poultry, white meats, pasta, Asian cuisine, roasted vegetables, and medium-intensity cheeses.

It is also particularly interesting with dishes where fatty and fresh elements coexist, as its volume on the palate and its acidity allow it to balance preparations of certain intensity.

Perdigón Rosado Reserva 2023 takes the concept of rosé into a different territory. Old vines, a unique site, and 23 months between barrel and bottle shape a wine designed not only to refresh but to be enjoyed at the table and evolve over time. Bodegas RODA's first rosé is thus born with the ambition and depth of a true aged wine.
