Marzal Albariño 2025 is one of the most personal projects of Bodegas Trenza and renowned winemaker David Tofterup. Made exclusively with Albariño from Ribeiras do Morrazo, this wine champions a historic Galician wine region located between Vigo and Pontevedra, where the Atlantic imprints an unmistakable character on every bunch.

Fresh, vibrant, and deeply Atlantic, Marzal expresses the essence of a landscape of granite, sea breezes, and low-yield vineyards. An Albariño that combines the aromatic intensity of the varietal with elegant minerality and extraordinary gastronomic versatility.

The Vineyard

The grapes come from vineyards in Ribeiras do Morrazo, located on the Morrazo peninsula, between the cities of Vigo and Pontevedra.

The plots are situated on granitic soils and a few hundred meters from the Atlantic Ocean, whose marine influence provides moderate temperatures, abundant breezes, and a slow grape ripening. The low yields result in an Albariño with great aromatic concentration, always maintaining a distinct freshness and elegant salinity.

Production

The harvest is done manually in small crates when the grapes reach their optimal ripening point.

After spending a night in a cold room to preserve their full aromatic potential, the whole bunches are gently pressed. The must is cold-settled and ferments in small stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures between 14 and 16 ºC.

After fermentation, the wine remains 4 to 6 months on its fine lees, providing greater volume, complexity, and a creamy texture without losing the characteristic freshness of Albariño.

Tasting Notes

It presents a bright pale lemon yellow color with greenish reflections.

On the nose, it displays very expressive aromas of lime, green apple, peach, and apricot, accompanied by delicate mineral notes and a suggestive sensation of sea breeze that clearly reflects its Atlantic origin.

On the palate, it is lively, precise, and very refreshing. White fruit and citrus combine with vibrant acidity and an elegant texture acquired during aging on lees. The finish is long, clean, and slightly saline, leaving a pleasant sensation of freshness that invites you to continue enjoying.

Pairing

Perfect for seafood, oysters, clams, mussels, squid, octopus, white fish, trout, baked salmon, sushi, Japanese cuisine, seafood rice dishes, and appetizers.

Recommended serving temperature: 8–10 ºC.

Marzal Albariño 2025 is a magnificent expression of the Galician Atlantic. An elegant, vibrant, and full-bodied wine that demonstrates why Albariño is one of the world's great white varieties. Its balance between fruit, minerality, and freshness makes it an ideal choice for white wine lovers and those who wish to discover the authenticity of Ribeiras do Morrazo.
