Brión Cepas Vellas Brancellao 2023 is one of the most exclusive expressions of Ribeira Sacra. Made exclusively with Brancellao, one of the rarest and most elegant native red varieties of Galicia, it originates in the historic vineyards of Quiroga to showcase the finest, freshest, and most mineral side of this territory.
Its very limited production, old vines, and respectful winemaking make this wine a benchmark for those seeking authenticity and the maximum expression of the Galician Atlantic landscape.

The Vineyard
The grapes come from old Brancellao vines located in the Quiroga area, one of the most unique areas of Ribeira Sacra.
The vineyards are located between 250 and 400 meters above sea level, on soils of schist, quartz, and slate, which provide a marked mineral personality, freshness, and depth to the wine.
Harvesting is done manually in small 10 kg boxes, ensuring careful selection of the bunches and preserving all the quality of the fruit.
Winemaking
Fermentation takes place in wood, respecting varietal identity and favoring delicate extraction that preserves the natural elegance of Brancellao.
Subsequently, the wine ages in foudres and barrels, where it acquires complexity, structure, and balance without losing the freshness or Atlantic character that defines this variety.
The entire winemaking process follows a philosophy of minimal intervention, allowing the vineyard and terroir to express themselves with total authenticity.
Tasting Notes
It presents an attractive, clean, and brilliant medium ruby color.
On the nose, it offers an elegant and deep expression, with notes of licorice and eucalyptus along with aromas of ripe red and black fruits, providing great complexity and finesse.
On the palate, it is balanced and refined, with soft, perfectly integrated tannins and a lively acidity that provides tension and length. Ripe black fruit combines with delicate hints of black pepper and a mineral background that leads to a long, persistent, and harmonious finish.
Pairing
Ideal to accompany poultry, white meats, lamb, mushrooms, mountain rice dishes, traditional Galician cuisine, artisanal cured meats, and semi-cured cheeses.
Recommended serving temperature: between 15 and 16 ºC.
Brión Cepas Vellas Brancellao 2023 demonstrates the enormous potential of one of Galicia's historic varieties. A delicate, mineral, and full-bodied wine that precisely expresses the landscape of Ribeira Sacra and the natural elegance of Brancellao, making it a true jewel for lovers of Atlantic wines.
