Cunqueiro El Primero 2020 is much more than a wine. It is the liquid memory of generations who have cherished the land of Ribeiro, the whisper of centuries-old vines, and the sincere expression of ancestral varieties that paint a landscape full of life, tradition, and emotion.

Born from a careful selection of the best red grapes in the region —Caíño Longo, Mencía, Brancellao, and Sousón—, this wine embodies the Atlantic soul of Ribeiro. Each bottle is the reflection of a story woven with patience, passion, and knowledge passed down from generation to generation.

A limited edition of just 1,000 numbered bottles, born from absolute respect for the terroir and the desire to capture its purest essence. The harvest is manual, with exhaustive selection in the vineyard. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, and the wine is slowly aged in tanks on fine lees, refining itself without losing its freshness or authenticity.

Tasting Notes

Bright ruby red color with violet reflections, medium intensity. Delicate and expressive nose, with aromas of fresh red fruit —strawberry, cherry, redcurrant—, wild flowers, Atlantic herbs, and a subtle mineral background that evokes wet stone and the greenery of Ribeiro. On the palate it is agile, vibrant, and silky, with fine tannins, refreshing acidity, and a long, elegant, and saline finish, where the fruit, freshness, and memory of the landscape embrace.

Pairing

Ideal for accompanying oily fish such as bonito or tuna, white meats, octopus a feira, artisan cured meats, Galician cheeses, mountain rice dishes, or Atlantic cuisine with a modern touch. A versatile, delicate, and profoundly gastronomic wine.
