Detrás de la Casa Syrah 2021 is a wine born from the most intimate and secret part of the Enrique Mendoza winery, in the heart of the La Marina valley, Alicante. A wine that encapsulates the essence of a Mediterranean landscape where the sun, the sea breeze, and limestone mark every cluster and every sip.

Originating from a single vineyard literally located "behind the house," this Syrah is the result of sustainable and precise viticulture, where respect for the land is absolute. The harvest is manual, with rigorous selection. It ferments with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks and ages for 12 months in French oak barrels, where it is polished, serene, and reaches its maximum expression.

Tasting Notes

Deep cherry red color with violet reflections. The nose is intense, complex, and seductive, with aromas of ripe black fruit, plums, violets, and a touch of sweet spices, cocoa, black pepper, and balsamic notes. On the palate, it is powerful, elegant, and enveloping, with fine tannins, good acidity, and a long finish where fruit, spices, and a mineral echo reminiscent of its limestone soil merge.

Pairing

Ideal to accompany grilled red meats, roasted lamb, spicy dishes, game stews, cured cheeses, and Iberian cold cuts. A wine that calls for calm, conversation, and a generous table.
