Finca Calvestra Margas Merseguera 2021 is the purest and deepest voice of Merseguera, an almost forgotten grape variety that re-emerges with elegance and authenticity on these high slopes of Requena. A white wine born from a harsh yet beautiful landscape, where altitude and marl soils sculpt each cluster, offering freshness, minerality, and unexpected complexity.

Cultivated at over 900 meters of altitude, Merseguera finds its perfect habitat here, where cold nights and bright days allow for slow and balanced ripening. The harvest, always manual and careful, leads to vinification with native yeasts, followed by aging on fine lees in tanks and used barrels, which provides texture, depth, and contained elegance.

Tasting Notes

Pale golden yellow color, with brilliant flashes. On the nose, it is deep, mineral, and elegant, with notes of ripe white fruit—roasted apple, pear—, candied citrus, dried flowers, fennel, and a subtle hint of almond and wet stone. On the palate, it is unctuous, fresh, and structured, with balanced acidity, a creamy texture, and a long, saline, persistent finish, where fruit and minerality merge into a serene whisper.
