Giró de Abargues 2021, from Casa Agrícola (Pepe Mendoza), is a red wine made from 100% Giró, an ancient variety from Marina Alta (Alicante), grown on the Abargues Estate (Llíber) on terraced ferruginous soil at an altitude of about 300m. The viticulture is organic, with minimal yield, and manual harvesting guarantees intact grapes.

After fermentation with stems (30%) and indigenous yeasts in 1,000L tanks, the wine matures for 12 months in 500L French oak barrels (some new, some second-year).

Tasting Notes

Intense ruby red color with a violet rim. The nose unfolds Mediterranean freshness: red fruits, damp forest, scrubland, and a slightly sanguine aroma marked by iron and wet earth. The palate combines finesse and structure: elegant tannins, lively acidity, herbaceous notes, and a fresh, mineral persistence

Accompanies white or red meats, rice dishes, cured meats, light game, and aged cheeses.
