Godeval Cepas Vellas 2021 is the pure essence of the oldest and wisest Godello. A white wine that springs from the steep slopes of Valdeorras, where granite and slate embrace vines planted more than 50 years ago. Its soul is the Galician mountain: fresh, austere, deep, and mineral.

Made exclusively from selected grapes from the winery's oldest vines, cultivated on slate soils that impart tension and verticality. The harvest is manual, with rigorous selection, and fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, followed by aging on fine lees for months, which contributes volume, complexity, and a profoundly Atlantic character.

Tasting Notes

Straw yellow color with golden reflections, clean and bright. The nose is deep, elegant, and mineral, with notes of ripe white fruit —pear, apple—, candied citrus, wild flowers, raw almond, and an underlying wet stone character that evokes the slate and rain on Galician soil. The palate is broad, unctuous, and vibrant, with precise acidity, a silky texture, and a long, saline, persistent finish, where fruit and minerality merge in perfect harmony.

Pairing

Ideal for Galician seafood, white fish, seafood rice dishes, creamy cheeses, white meats, and Asian cuisine. A full-bodied white wine with soul, which grows in the glass and at the table, perfect for both appetizers and main courses.
