Product Sheet – Gorgona Rosso 2019 (75 cl)
Frescobaldi Gorgona Rosso 2019 was born from the collaboration between Marchesi Frescobaldi and the Gorgona agricultural penal colony, the only island prison in Europe. Produced in plots planted by inmates —under technical supervision— on the island of Gorgona (Tuscany), this wine represents a social reintegration project. The harvest is manual and the aging takes place for 15 months in terracotta amphorae, in contact with the skins .
The wine comes in a 75 cl bottle, presented in an elegant "Gorgona" engraved wooden case, making it an ideal gift or collector's item.

Tasting Notes
Ruby red color with garnet reflections. The nose is intense, with ripe red fruit, sweet spices, notes of slate, damp earth, and a subtle marine background. On the palate, it presents delicate tannins, fresh acidity, and a balanced profile between fruit, freshness, and minerality .
Pairing
Perfect with white meats, rice dishes with meat or mushrooms, grilled chicken, and savory Mediterranean cuisine. Its elegance and balance also allow it to be enjoyed on its own, evoking the marine environment of Gorgona Island.
History and Social Responsibility
The project began in 2012 as a social reintegration initiative: viticultural work in the prison has proven effective in improving self-esteem and offering prospects to inmates, with a remarkably low recidivism rate . Frescobaldi actively collaborates by providing training, and many former inmates continue to work in wineries after their release .
