Las Gundiñas 2022 emerges from the cool slopes of Valtuille de Abajo (Bierzo), from the La Vizcaína de Vinos project by Raúl Pérez and his nephew César Márquez. It is a light red wine made from Mencía (accompanied by a touch of Bastardo and Garnacha Tintorera), fermented with whole clusters in open vats, with manual foot-treading and a prolonged maceration of 40–60 days. Subsequently, it ages for one year in used French oak barrels, resulting in a fresh wine with soft tannins and Atlantic elegance.

Tasting Notes

Color: pale cherry red, carmine rim, clean and bright 

Aromas: fresh red fruit (cherry, blackberry), herbaceous-saline notes with a medicinal touch (rosemary, thyme, graphite), soft spices and balsamic subtlety

Palate: light and juicy, soft but present tannins, lively acidity and a fresh finish with subtle bitterness. Called “immediately accessible” and “very balanced”
