The Vineyard

The grapes come from the historic Viña Tondonia vineyard, located on the right bank of the Ebro River at altitudes between 438 and 489 meters. This vineyard, over 50 years old, spans 150 hectares with diverse soils, from alluvial to clay-limestone with gravel and pebbles.

The 2013 vintage was marked by a rainy and cool year that delayed ripening. The climatic conditions required a rigorous selection of grapes, resulting in wines with great aging potential.

Winemaking

After destemming, fermentation takes place with the skins in large 240-hectoliter oak vats. Subsequently, the wine ages for 6 years in oak barrels, with two annual rackings.

The wine is bottled in November 2021 without filtering, after a traditional clarification with fresh egg whites.

Tasting Notes

Bright ruby color with slight tile-colored rims, reflecting its evolution.

On the nose, it is very fine and persistent, with fresh, toasted aromas and delicate notes of vanilla.

On the palate, it is dry, smooth, and round, with an elegant and perfectly developed texture that reflects the classic style of the winery.
