THE FOOLS | EL PRETIL 2022

El Pretil 2022 is a dry white wine made by Los Insensatos in the D.O. Montilla-Moriles. It comes from the La Cañada Navarro plot, at 480 meters of altitude on light albariza soils with a loamy-clay texture, where Pedro Ximénez finds a unique, delicate, and deeply mineral expression.

The harvest was manual, on August 27, 2022, with selection of bunches in the field. The grapes were destemmed, crushed, and gently pressed. The must fermented spontaneously in concrete vats, with temperature controlled by sprinkling. The aging took place for nine months on fine lees, under a natural veil of flor.

Tasting Notes

Pale color with greenish reflections. On the nose, elegant and mineral, with soft spicy notes. On the palate, fresh and vertical, saline and very persistent.
