Marimar Estate La Masía Chardonnay 2023 is the wine that changed Marimar Torres' history in California. After tasting the first wines from the Don Miguel vineyard, her father uttered a phrase that would define the project's future: "We must have a winery in California!" This is how a winery inspired by traditional Catalan country estates, a symbol of the family's legacy of over four centuries dedicated to viticulture, was born.
This Chardonnay expresses the perfect union between Mediterranean winemaking tradition and one of the world's great terroirs for this varietal, the Green Valley of the Russian River Valley.

The Vineyard
The grapes come entirely from the Don Miguel Vineyard, a sustainable vineyard located in Green Valley, the coolest and most fog-influenced area of the Russian River Valley, just 15 kilometers from the Pacific Ocean.
The vines are cultivated following a high-density European model, with approximately 5,000 plants per hectare, which naturally limits production and favors greater aromatic concentration and balance.
The vintage combines three classic Chardonnay clones:
48% Rued
28% See
24% Spring Mountain
Each contributes a different aromatic profile, enriching the wine's complexity.
Winemaking
The harvest was carried out manually between September 11 and 14.
After very gentle whole-cluster pressing, the must fermented with indigenous yeasts from the estate in high-quality French oak barrels from Damy and Rousseau cooperages, made with wood from the Allier forest. 30% of the barrels were new.
The wine underwent complete malolactic fermentation and remained nine months on its lees, gaining volume, complexity, and texture before being bottled in August 2025.
Tasting Notes
It presents a brilliant golden yellow color with luminous reflections.
On the nose, it displays an extraordinary aromatic richness with tropical notes of mango, kiwi, and lychee, accompanied by apple, pear, mandarin, peach, and delicate white flowers. The aging contributes elegant hints of vanilla, hazelnut, and perfectly integrated fine toast.
On the palate, it is broad, enveloping, and very balanced. Its creamy texture combines with a bright acidity that provides freshness and tension. The finish is long, elegant, and silky, with a persistent aftertaste where ripe fruit, nutty notes, and delicate minerality reappear.
Pairing
Ideal for shellfish, lobster, baked or buttered fish, poultry, creamy risottos, Asian cuisine, white meats, and soft or semi-cured cheeses.
Recommended serving temperature: 10–12 ºC.
Marimar Estate La Masía Chardonnay 2023 represents the perfect fusion between the Catalan tradition of the Torres family and the excellence of the Russian River Valley. An elegant, profound, and nuanced Chardonnay, crafted with patience and precision to express the full personality of one of California's great vineyards.
