Marqués de Murrieta Reserva 2019 is the pure essence of Riojan elegance, a wine that combines centuries of tradition with a contemporary interpretation of balance, finesse, and authenticity. Born in the historic vineyards of Finca Ygay, at the gates of Logroño, where the stone, wind, and vines have been telling the same story for over 170 years.

Sourced from selected plots on clay-limestone soils, with iron veins and rounded pebbles, which provide freshness, structure, and character. The harvest is manual, with selection of bunches in the vineyard and on the sorting table. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with native yeasts, followed by 24 months of aging in American oak barrels, where the wine refines, gains depth, and develops its serene and majestic elegance.

Tasting Notes

Bright ruby red color with garnet rim. The nose is refined, intense, and complex, with aromas of ripe red fruit —cherry, raspberry, blackcurrant—, notes of pepper, clove, vanilla, cocoa, tobacco, and leather, all enveloped in an elegant balsamic and mineral background. On the palate it is silky, harmonious, and fresh, with mature tannins, great balance, and a long, persistent, and elegant finish where fruit and aging blend in perfect harmony.

Perfect for roasted meats, oven-baked lamb, grilled T-bone steak, traditional stews, aged cheeses, Iberian cured meats, and hearty soups. A wine that calls for time, conversation, and celebration.
