Matalaz 2025 is a wine that breathes the freshness and vibrant energy of the Atlantic, an ode to the Galician landscape, its green valleys, and its sea breeze. An Atlantic red, light and juicy, born from the harmonious encounter of indigenous varieties and know-how passed down from generation to generation.
Made from a delicate blend of Sousón, Caíño Longo, Brancellao, and Mencía, sourced from small vineyards cultivated on the slopes and terraces of Ribeiro, on granite and clay soils that provide minerality and freshness. The harvest is manual, with selection in the vineyard. Fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts, seeking to preserve the purest expression of the fruit, followed by a brief aging in tank to respect the essence of young wine and its fruity and floral character.

Tasting Notes
Bright cherry red color with violet reflections, medium intensity. Frank, fresh, and very expressive nose, with aromas of red fruit —strawberry, raspberry, cherry—, violets, Atlantic herbs, and a mineral background that evokes wet stone. On the palate, it is agile, juicy, and vibrant, with fine tannins, delicious acidity, and a long, refreshing, and saline finish that invites drinking and sharing.
Pairing
Perfect to accompany Galician empanadas, pulpo a feira (Galician-style octopus), fatty fish, white meats, mountain rice dishes, cheese boards, and artisanal cured meats. Its fresh, light, and vibrant profile makes it an ideal companion for informal gatherings or meals where the focus is on sharing and enjoying.
Matalaz 2023 is a song to the most authentic Galicia. A glass that encapsulates the murmur of the river, the infinite green of the slopes, and the freshness of the Atlantic wind. A wine that speaks of landscape, tradition, and joy.
