Matas Altas Blanco Viñas Viejas 2022 is a biodynamic white wine made by Bodega Cerrón – Stratum Wines in Fuente Álamo, in the D.O. Jumilla, Spain. It comes from vineyards planted between 1970 and 1990, with 60% ungrafted and the rest grafted, located at 850–940 m above sea level on sandy limestone soils with marl .

Harvesting is done by hand. A co-fermentation of Macabeo (60%), Airén (30%) and other traditional varieties takes place in a 5,000 L foudre. The wine is aged for 11 months in this large oak vat, maintaining a mineral, lively and complex texture .

Tasting Notes

Straw yellow color with greenish reflections, bright and inviting . On the nose, it reveals delicate floral, citrus, and peach aromas, with a distinct saline mineral background . On the palate, it is creamy, vibrant, and with a precise acidity that makes it fresh and persistent, with a silky texture and natural elegance .

Pairing

Ideal with seafood, oily fish, rice dishes with vegetables, warm salads, and mild cheeses.
