Pela Roques Bobal 2024 is a fresh, delicate, and deeply Mediterranean interpretation of Bobal, crafted by Bodega Mustiguillo from a vineyard located at 820 meters of altitude. The combination of altitude, dolomitic limestone soil, and a very gentle extraction process results in a red wine where fruit, freshness, and the identity of the landscape take precedence over power.

An organic Bobal with a fluid and gastronomic profile, aged for eight months in large oak vats to accompany the wine without masking the expression of the variety.

Production

The grapes come from El Terrazo, at an altitude of 820 meters, where Bobal grows on dolomitic limestone soil. Viticulture is strictly dry-farmed, seeking maximum respect for the environment and a direct expression of the vineyard.

Harvesting is done manually in 15 kg crates, and the clusters are sorted on a selection table. Maceration and fermentation take place in 35-hectoliter French oak vats for approximately 30-32 days, incorporating part of the stems.

All extraction work is carried out very gently and manually. After devatting, only the free-run wine is selected, which then remains for eight months in a large 80-hectoliter oak vat.

Tasting Notes

Pela Roques shows the freshest and most delicate side of Bobal. Red fruit combines with floral notes, Mediterranean herbs, and a mineral background reminiscent of the vineyard's limestone character.

On the palate, it stands out for its freshness, fluidity, and fine tannin, with a restrained structure and a particularly lively sensation. Aging in large wooden volumes provides depth without dominating the fruit, leaving a clean, fresh, and mineral finish.

Food Pairing

Its fresh and gastronomic character allows it to be paired with rice dishes, mushrooms, poultry, white meats, cured meats, pasta, and medium-aged cheeses. It also works particularly well with Asian cuisine, ceviches, and salads with a certain intensity.

It is a Bobal that allows exploring a different side of the variety: less concentration and more landscape, freshness, and precision.

Pela Roques 2024 speaks of Bobal from its altitude and limestone. A red wine with delicate extraction and restrained wood that finds its personality in freshness, texture, and the raw expression of the vineyard.
