Marko Gure Arbasoak Txakolina 2025 is one of the most unique interpretations of contemporary txakoli. Produced by Oxer Wines, its name means "Our Ancestors" in Basque and pays homage to both the generations who worked these lands and the historic Santimamiñe caves, a World Heritage site, located next to the vineyards from which this wine is born.
Far from the lighter profile of traditional txakoli, Gure Arbasoak offers a gastronomic and profound version. Partial barrel fermentation, aging on lees, and the influence of the Cantabrian Sea result in a complex, fresh white wine with a marked Atlantic personality.

The Vineyard
The grapes come from vineyards located in Kortezubi, a small town in Vizcaya close to the Cantabrian Sea and known for housing the prehistoric caves of Santimamiñe.
The vines, approximately 30 years old, grow on clay-loam soils rich in limestone. The proximity to the sea provides freshness, while the Atlantic climate favors slow and balanced ripening, preserving the acidity and aromatic expression of the native varieties.
Production
Fermentation begins partially in stainless steel tanks using exclusively indigenous yeasts.
Subsequently, the wine finishes fermenting in foudres and used 600-liter French oak barrels, where malolactic fermentation also takes place. Finally, it remains seven months on its lees, gaining complexity, texture, and depth without losing the identity of txakoli.
Tasting Notes
It presents a brilliant yellow color with luminous reflections.
On the nose, it displays aromas of ripe fruit accompanied by elegant herbaceous notes and hints of rosemary, lavender, and Atlantic aromatic plants, all perfectly integrated with subtle nuances from aging.
On the palate, it surprises with its breadth, character, and extraordinary freshness. The creamy texture is balanced by a vibrant acidity that leads to a dry, long, and distinctly saline finish, where the influence of the sea and the calcareous soils are expressed with great clarity.
Pairing
Ideal with oysters, seafood, grilled fish, cod, sushi, Japanese cuisine, seafood paella, octopus, poultry, soft cheeses, and traditional Basque cuisine.
Recommended serving temperature: between 7 and 10 ºC.
Marko Gure Arbasoak Txakolina 2025 is much more than a txakoli: it is a tribute to the landscape, history, and roots of Bizkaia. An Atlantic white wine of great personality, where minerality, aging on lees, and freshness come together to offer an elegant and gastronomic interpretation of the native Basque varieties.
