Pezas da Portela Godello 2024 – Ancestral soul on slate
Pezas da Portela 2024 is an elegant and complex white wine produced by Bodegas Valdesil in the D.O. Valdeorras, Galicia. It comes from 11 "pezas" or historic vineyard plots between 50 and 90 years old, cultivated on slate slopes at an altitude of about 500m
Harvesting is done manually at dawn. Each plot is vinified separately: destemming, vertical pressing, and fermentation with indigenous yeasts in 2000L and 500L French oak barrels. After fermentation, the wines are blended and aged for 6 months on their lees with batonnage, and then remain for 12 months in steel tanks before bottling

Tasting Notes
Straw yellow color with greenish reflections, bright and clean . On the nose, it displays elegance with white fruit (apple, pear, peach), flowers, and a distinct slaty minerality, accompanied by subtle toasted notes. On the palate, it feels creamy, with medium body, vibrant acidity, silky density, and a long, mineral, and enveloping finish .
Food Pairing
Ideal with seafood, oily fish, creamy rice dishes, grilled vegetables, and stews.
With each sip of Pezas da Portela, the living memory of centenary vines anchored in slate slopes pulses. Its mineral and naked freshness invites dreams of Galician mists, while the oak whispers restrained elegance: a liquid poem that builds bridges between root and horizon.
