Planteray Paraguay 2014 Single Cask is part of the prestigious single cask collection from the French house Planteray. A limited edition that explores unusual territories in the world of rum and highlights the potential of Paraguay as an emerging origin.

Distilled at Fortín S.A. from sugar cane molasses, this rum begins its journey with eight years of tropical aging in ex-bourbon barrels. It then crosses the Atlantic to continue two years of maturation in Ferrand barrels in France and culminates its evolution with an additional ten months in an Arbikie Highland rye whisky barrel. The result is a complex, elegant, and extraordinarily expressive rum.

Tasting notes

Nose: Very expressive and fruity, with aromas of soursop, strawberry, papaya, and tutti frutti notes. The time in rye whisky barrels adds an elegant spicy background.

Palate: Rich, balanced, and complex. Strawberry jam, baked apple, ripe pineapple, and apricot stand out, accompanied by cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger.

Finish: Exceptionally long and dry, with hints of Pu-erh black tea, hazelnuts, dry straw, damp cellar, and clove.

Empty glass: Lingering notes of bubblegum, oak, apricot, and allspice.
