Product Sheet – Salicornio Moscatel 2022

Salicornio Moscatel 2022 is a dry white wine produced by Casa Balaguer in the D.O. Alicante, Spain. It comes from vineyards located in the La Mata Natural Park, just 50 meters from the Mediterranean Sea, where Moscatel de Alejandría vines are cultivated in sandy and saline soils.

The harvest is done manually in small plastic boxes, followed by a 5-day maceration with the skins at room temperature. Fermentation is spontaneous with indigenous yeasts from the natural park. Halfway through fermentation, it is pressed, and the wine continues without skins until dry. Subsequently, it ages on fine lees for 5 months in concrete tanks under flor.

Tasting Notes

Clear golden yellow color. On the nose, aromas of orange blossom, peach, and orange peel stand out. On the palate, it presents with good volume and complexity, accompanied by a notable salinity. This white wine has a pleasant texture, medium body, and well-integrated acidity. The finish is dry, quite long, and well-defined.

Ideal to accompany fish, seafood, rice dishes, pasta, salted meats, salads, and cheeses.
