Sierra Cantabria Crianza 2020 is the pure essence of Rioja Alavesa: a wine that looks to the vineyard, to tradition, and to the elegance of time well understood. It is born at the foot of the mountain range that gives it its name, where the vine embraces the landscape and the Atlantic climate, offering wines full of freshness, precision, and balance.

Sourced from own vineyards located in San Vicente de la Sonsierra, planted on clay-limestone soils, cultivated sustainably. The harvest is manual, with selection in the vineyard and in the winery. It ferments with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks, followed by an aging period of 14 months in French and American oak barrels, where the wine is polished, mellowed, and achieves its purest expression, without losing its fruity energy.

Tasting Notes

Intense cherry red color with garnet reflections, bright and medium-high intensity. On the nose it is fresh and elegant, with aromas of ripe red fruit, cherry, raspberry, and redcurrant, accompanied by notes of vanilla, cocoa, clove, and a subtle balsamic and mineral background. On the palate it is silky, balanced, and juicy, with polished tannins, good acidity, and a long, harmonious finish full of nuances, where fruit and aging blend in perfect balance.

Pairing

Ideal to accompany grilled meats, suckling lamb, Iberian cured meats, traditional stews, aged cheeses, or hearty dishes. A wine that calls for a generous table and moments of conversation and unhurried enjoyment.
