Valduero 12 Años Gran Reserva 2009 is one of Ribera del Duero's most exclusive gems and one of the most extraordinary wines made by the historic Valduero winery. It is only produced in exceptional vintages and comes from centuries-old vineyards with very low yields, resulting in a wine designed to defy the passage of time.

Its prolonged twelve-year aging, divided between barrel and bottle, makes this reference an authentic collector's item, capable of showing all the greatness of Tempranillo when combined with patience, precision, and absolute respect for the terroir.

The Vineyard

The grapes come from vineyards more than 90 years old, cultivated on clay and limestone soils characteristic of Ribera del Duero.

Production does not exceed 1,500 kg per hectare, allowing for extraordinary concentration and complexity.

Viticulture involves a rigorous selection of the best plots and a completely artisanal harvest.

Winemaking

It is only produced in vintages considered exceptional.

The grapes are destemmed manually and ferment in 500-liter French oak barrels, where both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation take place.

Indigenous yeasts provide identity and faithfully reflect the character of the terroir.

The wine then remains for a minimum of 48 months in oak barrels from six different origins, followed by prolonged bottle aging for more than eight years before being released to the market.

Tasting Notes

Evolved garnet red color with elegant brick-red reflections.

The nose is clean, deep, and complex, with menthol notes, fine leather, tobacco, cedar, and delicate balsamic nuances that reflect its long aging.

On the palate, it shows a silky and harmonious entry, with perfectly integrated acidity and noble tannins that support an elegant and persistent structure.

The finish is long, deep, and full of spicy, balsamic, and noble aging notes.

Pairing

Ideal for accompanying long-aged red meats, game, traditional roasts, aged cheeses, and special gastronomic occasions.

Recommended serving temperature between 18 and 19 ºC.

A collector's wine that represents the ultimate expression of Valduero's patience and excellence. Deep, elegant, and unique, it is one of the great references in the recent history of Ribera del Duero and one of Spain's most admired wines.
