Valduero Rosado Gran Reserva 2016 is a true rarity in the Spanish wine landscape. Considered the only Gran Reserva rosé from Ribera del Duero, it is the result of long aging, extremely limited production, and a philosophy based on time as a tool for perfection.

The combination of Tempranillo and Albillo Mayor results in a complex, elegant, and deeply gastronomic wine, capable of surprising both lovers of great rosés and collectors of unique wines.

The Vineyard

The grapes come from the La Yunquera and Fuentepinedo estates, located between 850 and 900 meters of altitude.

The Albillo Mayor vines are approximately 25 years old, while the Tempranillo vines are 35 years old.

The vineyards grow on sandy pebble and clay soils, cultivated with natural fertilization using sheep manure.

Winemaking

The harvest is done manually in 14 kg boxes during the first week of October.

The grapes are chilled overnight to 4 ºC before being processed.

Tempranillo and Albillo ferment together with indigenous yeasts after a brief pre-pressing maceration. Fermentation takes place at a maximum temperature of 12 ºC to preserve all the aromatic intensity.

Subsequently, the wine undergoes exceptional aging of four years in barrels, followed by prolonged bottle refinement.

Tasting Notes

Ruby color with elegant golden reflections resulting from its evolution.

The nose reveals hints of ripe red fruit accompanied by notes of vanilla, rosemary, fine wood, and delicate smoky nuances.

On the palate, the Albillo contributes freshness and vibrancy, while the Tempranillo and the long aging add depth, notes of cassis, spices, and extraordinary complexity.

The finish is long, elegant, and full of nuances.
