Valduero Tierra Alta en 2 Maderas 2020 is a wine born from the heights, where the vine defies the limits of climate, time, and land. A red wine that reflects the strength of the Ribera del Duero in its most honest and elegant version, marked by the personality of its soil and the nobility of its old vines.

Sourced from goblet-trained vineyards, planted at high altitude on poor, calcareous, and stony soils, with vines over 30 years old that offer concentrated, characterful fruit. Harvesting is manual, with rigorous selection. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks, followed by an aging period of 12 months in barrels of two types of oak: American and French, which provide a balance between fruit expression and wood finesse. After its time in barrel, the wine is refined for several months in bottle before being released to the market.

Tasting Notes

Deep cherry red color with garnet rim and high intensity. On the nose, it is expressive, elegant, and complex, with aromas of ripe black fruit—plum, blackberry—, sweet spices, cocoa, vanilla, roasted notes, and subtle mineral hints evoking limestone and dry earth. On the palate, it is broad, silky, and well-structured, with ripe tannins, balanced acidity, and a long, persistent finish where fruit and wood embrace in harmony.

Pairing

Ideal with grilled red meats, T-bone steak, suckling lamb, game stews, traditional stews, Iberian cured meats, and aged cheeses. A wine that calls for a generous table, time, and lingering conversations.
